Gifts for Teens

December 12, 2013

On Saturday, December 7, 2013, a group of Quixilver members volunteered at a local event — Gifts for Teens. Gifts for Teens is an community outreach program sponsored by American Association of University Women that aims to pack approximately 1,300 packages of gifts for underprivileged teenagers who live in Downtown San Jose.

Members arrived at the Via Valiente Shopping Plaza at 9 in the morning and were excited to participate in this wonderful event. The coordinators first explained to the group of volunteers the purpose of their organization, the instructions and the agenda of the day, then we were assigned to different stations to wrap gifts. In two hours, our members put together hundred of packages, socks, supplies bags, and more. We were also happy to meet other volunteers, including students from Archbishop Mitty High School, employees from SanDisk, and representatives from other companies and organizations. Quixilver is thankful to have had this opportunity to help out local teenagers and we look forward to participating again in the future!
