About the Challenges
Early January every year, FIRST releases a new game challenge for teams to compete in. These challenges are always very different each year; they can range from shooting 6 inch foam balls, to picking up and stacking pyramid shaped "tetras," to lifting 40 inch diameter balls, to hanging inner tube on a structure in the middle of the field. After the challenge is released, teams only have six weeks to brainstorm, prototype, design, manufacture, program, and test their robots. This intensive build season is fun, challenging, and extremely rewarding.
